Kino Parkway and 22nd Street Intersection Improvement: Weekend Traffic Shift

The Ashton Company Inc., under contract to the Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), is nearing completion of the Kino Parkway and 22nd Street Intersection Improvement Project, and this weekend crews will begin shifting traffic to install the new traffic signals on 22nd Street and restripe the roadway. During this work, left turns in all directions at the Kino Parkway and 22nd Street intersection will not be allowed. 

Miracle Mile Crack Sealing: Romero Road to Oracle Road

Crews from the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT) Streets and Traffic Maintenance Division are crack sealing Miracle Mile from Romero Road to Oracle Road. Crews are working Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. The work is scheduled to be complete by Wednesday, November 19, 2014. At least one travel lane in each direction will be maintained during this work.

The traveling public can expect delays when driving in this work area.  Please obey all traffic control signs and watch for construction personnel and equipment in the work area.

Grant Road Widening Phase II Public Open House

The public is invited to attend a Grant Road Widening Phase II design open house being hosted by the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT) and the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA). The open house will take place on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Tucson Association of Realtors, 2445 N. Tucson Boulevard. There will be a brief presentation by the project team at 5:45 p.m.

Street Bonds Road Recovery City-Wide Crack Seal Program

Southern Arizona Paving and Construction Co, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), has begun crack sealing several roadways throughout the City of Tucson. The work is scheduled to be complete by Wednesday, November 26, 2014. Crews will be working Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. This work is part of the voter-approved $100 million, five-year street bond program - Road Recovery. During this work, travel lane restrictions will be in place, however at least one lane of travel will be maintained.

Veteran's Day Parade - Travel Information

Downtown Tucson will be the host of the annual Veterans Day Parade on Tuesday, November 11, 2014. The parade will stage on West Alameda Street between Granada Avenue and Manning House Way beginning at 9 a.m.  The parade begins at 11 a.m., and proceeds east on West Alameda Street and turns north on Stone Avenue to Franklin Street, then turns west on Franklin Street to Church Avenue.  At Church Avenue, the parade turns north to Sixth Street/ St. Mary’s Road, proceeds west on Sixth Street/ St. Mary’s Road, then turns south on Granada Avenue and ends at Franklin Street.

All Souls Procession - Travel Information

Downtown will be the host of the annual All Souls Procession on Sunday, November 9, 2014.  The Procession will stage in the historic Warehouse District at Sixth Avenue and Seventh Street beginning Sunday at 4 p.m. The procession will begin moving through downtown at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. The Procession begins at Sixth Avenue and Alameda Street, proceeds west on Alameda Street to Granada Avenue and turns south to Congress Street.

Speedway Boulevard: Greasewood Road to Silverbell Road

RESURFACING PROJECT

On Wednesday, November 5, 2014, crews from Southern Arizona Paving and Construction Co., under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will begin work to improve pavement conditions on Speedway Boulevard from Greasewood Road to Silverbell Road. Crews will begin the project by lowering manhole covers and water valve covers. Work hours will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This work is scheduled to be complete by Friday, November 7, 2014.  

East Broadway Travel Lane Restrictions: 5900 E. Broadway

On Friday, October 31, 2014, the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT) will close both the eastbound and the westbound median island travel lanes at 5900 E. Broadway, in front of Park Place Mall, to remove a dead Eucalyptus tree located in the median island. The closure will take place from 4:30 a.m. to approximately 6:30 a.m. tomorrow. The lane closures will be approximately 200 feet long on each side of where the work is taking place.

Resurfacing Projects

On Monday, October 27, 2014, crews from Southern Arizona Paving and Construction Co., under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will begin work to improve pavement conditions on Speedway Boulevard from Alvernon Way to Rosemont Boulevard. Crews will begin the project by lowering manhole covers and water valve covers. Work hours will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This work is scheduled to be complete by Friday, October 31, 2014. 

Houghton Road/Broadway Intersection Improvement - Final Paving REVISED

On Monday, October 20, 2014, crews from Borderland Construction, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will begin the final paving at the Houghton Road and Broadway intersection. The final paving work is scheduled to be complete by Friday, October 24, 2014. Work hours will be 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Crews will begin the project by lowering manhole covers and water valve covers. Work hours will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
